In close and fruitful cooperation directly with the 2023 Fencing World Cup Organising Committee, we took on an ambitious challenge: to ensure high quality hydration for athletes, staff and guests, while promoting an exemplary model of sustainability. For the duration of the event, from 22 to 30 July, we installed six of our DKR water dispensers at strategic points, who have unceasingly distributed water from the Milan aqueduct: a good, safe and sustainable resource.
Our commitment did not stop there. To welcome the international guests, 50,000 bricks of Mayor's Water were distributed, a welcome message that enhances the local resource. Furthermore, to promote lasting change, we allocated 250 reusable flasksMMSpa, to the event volunteers, a small gesture for a big impact on plastic reduction.
Our video captures some significant moments, snapshots showing the athletes as, between bouts, they consciously choose to rehydrate with 'tap' water thanks to DKR dispensers. Prominent among these shots is one of the best-loved and most successful female faces in Italian fencing, Mara Navarria, fresh from winning the bronze medal in women's epee. Her gesture is not just a pause, but a testimony of confidence and the choice of a champion who knows how quality hydration is crucial to performance.
Being part of this success was a confirmation for us that sports performance and environmental responsibility can and should go hand in hand.
