After Grezzago, also Miradolo Terme finally has its Dkr Water House, inaugurated in the Town Hall Square on Saturday 18 April 2015.
Located in the area in front of the schools, the Water House takes the form of a hexagonal kiosk with two dispensers: Refrigerated Natural Water and Refrigerated Sparkling Water, open H24.
"The decision to put the small house in front of the school and thus adjacent to the town hall," commented the Councillor for Territory Alessandro Marchesini, "was because in this way we think that parents will be comfortable using it, and in this way we will help the families of Miradol with a concrete gesture.
The public service that the municipality has decided to provide to citizens contributes to the reduction of investments and operating costs of the administration for the recovery and recycling of plastics, pursues welfare and environmental protection objectives and provides households with a significant economic benefit. In addition, the construction of the Water House aims to encourage the consumption of public water (which is by far the most controlled) also as a beverage.
Italy holds the European record for bottled mineral water: Every year we consume 194 litres per person. But the packaging (in plastic bottles) and transport (mainly by road) of mineral water have a huge impact on the environment, in terms of greenhouse gas emissions and waste produced.
This is why the Water House initiative is fully part of the broader programme to reduce waste production and cut carbon dioxide emissions.
